They are back from Virginia, the home of Thomas Jefferson (the guy behind the Lewis and Clark Expedition.) A short paddling expedition on the Willamette from the Buena Vista ferry to the town of Independence.

Last Friday I took the Amtrak to Seattle. I had a few minutes to wander before my ride came and stumbled upon Pioneer Square and the Fireman's Memorial. Nice honor to our firefighters.
